Managers' Biographies:
Hassan Faried
Executive Director

Mr. Faried has over twenty years of experience with projects funded by international development agencies.  Prior to joining DBACD,
he held management positions with the Canadian Embassy in Egypt, several projects in Egypt under CIDA and with a large retailer
in Canada.  In addition to his management skills, Mr. Faried is an accomplished microfinance trainer, having participated in
numerous training-of-trainer initiatives, including those in Microfin, “Making Microfinance Work”, FastTrac Training, etc.  Mr. Faried is
fluent in Arabic and English and functional in French.  He is a board member of SANABEL, EgSAE and the EMFN.  Mr. Faried
graduated with a geology degree from Mansoura University.
Ahmed Azmy
Financial Manager

Mr. Azmy has thirty years of financial management experience.  Prior to joining DBACD as financial manager in 1998, he was
financial and administrative manager for Al-Hassana Trading Company for six years.  Before his work with Al-Hassana, he held
various chief accountant positions for private companies.  Mr. Azmy received his bachelors degree in accounting in Egypt in 1972,
after which has taken graduate coursework in accounting at Mansoura University.  He is fluent in Arabic and English has taken
various other courses in microfinance management topics (management, financial analysis, etc.).  Mr. Azmy is a Certified
Chartered Accountant (1992).
Dalal  Takla
Administration and HR Manager

Mrs. Takla has worked with DBACD since 2001, first as executive secretary until 2005, and then as administration and human
resource manager.  Prior to working with DBACD, she was administration manager for El-Gamal Group, before which she held
various administrative and training positions.  Mrs. Takla received her bachelor’s degree in mathematics and computer science
from Mansoura University in 1988.  She is fluent in Arabic and English and has participated in numerous training programs in
Microfinance, IT and management.
Reda Attia
Information Technology Manager

Mr. Attia has been the IT manager at DBACD since 1998.  Prior to this experience, he held various IT positions in the private sector.  
Mr. Attia received his bachelor of engineering degree in computer science from Mansoura University in 1992, and he is currently
working on his masters degree in computer engineering at Mansoura University.
Essam El Sayed Sally
Operations Manager

Mr. El Sayed Sally has worked for eight years for DBACD, joining the Association after receiving his University of Mansoura degree
in accounting.  He began as a loan officer in 2000, quickly being promoted to branch manager in 2001.  From his success as a
branch manager, he became DBACD’s operation manager in 2005.  Mr. El Sayed Sally has also participated in numerous
microfinance trainings, including those in financial analysis, product development, and management.  He is fluent in Arabic and
English.
Zahed Abdel Rahman
Audit Manager

Mr. Abdine has over 17 years experience in accounting and auditing, having been the audit manager for DBACD for the past 9
years.  He holds a bachelors degree in commerce (accounting).  He has also participated in various training courses on internal
risk management, management skills and financial analysis.
Amgad El Baz
Manager of Legal Affairs

Mr. El Baz has over 13 years of legal experience, including the past 8 years at DBACD as manager of legal affairs.  He holds a
bachelors degree in law and has participated in various trainings on legal issues regarding microfinance.
El-Biltagy Fawzy
Chief Accountant

Mr. Fawzy has twenty years of accounting experience, including having worked for DBACD as its senior accountant since 1998.  He
has also worked in accounting for various companies in the private sector.  Mr. Fawzy received a bachelor degree in commerce
(accounting & auditing) in 1985.  He has participated in various CGAP training courses, including trainings on topics such as
financial analysis, delinquency management, and business planning (Microfin).
Amani Ali
Manager of ITC

Mrs. Ali has been the manager of DBACD’s Information Technology Center since May 2003.  In her previous five years of
experience, she held various positions in banking, marketing and public relations, and interpretation and translation.  Mrs. Ali has a
bachelor of science degree in translation from the American University in UAE and several certifications in translation and
management.  She is fluent in Arabic and English and she is conversational in French.
Mawfek El Baz
Group Lending Manager

Mr. El Baz has been DBACD’s group lending manager for 1.5 years.  He holds a bachelors degree in commerce (accounting) and
he has participated in several trainings on microfinance in financial analysis, train-the-trainers and middle management skills.
